Hello

So I have been itching to show/tell you about my new toy! That is the Big Scalloped Edged Circle Puncher Machine. A long title for an instrument that I obviously don’t know the true name for. Anyway I purchased it at the big scrapbook ‘crop’ event that I went to with the very fun Alaina.. so fun infact that I didn’t do much scrapping but more of the chatting..

explanation:

Smiley reminder Pencils for the YW who have been assigned a goal to do three things each and every day. It may look to the untrained non Danish eye to read ’1.bed’ but does in fact mean pray but last I knew you could combine them.. 2.study 3.smile! Oh and do I have lots lots more to use my BSECPM for!

I very excitedly took my camera along with me to the cropper but after taking just ONE picture the battery died ;( So.. here’s the one picture from the crop.. pretty pathetic huh but you can see the newly purchased Paper shaper. (ah so that is what it’s called)

Spring looks like it has sprung. I get up early for work and it is light outside at 5am now in copenhagen.. since yesterday.

I love love love this candy coloured pacifier decorated tree. I had a trip out to a park Tues with YW for a photography scavanger hunt ) and this is what I saw! I want to go back and take better pics- we were on a mission so I had to scurry on.. continuing to look back in awe.. I almost fell over. Happy friday peeple!

Love lesson

For some of us Valentines is a fun day, to some of us not. Six years ago I had a powerful lesson on love. That it’s one thing to be loved but the greater gift and joy is found in loving- When you think of who is happier, the person who wants (and always thinks of themself) or the person who feels love for others and gives out joy having fun, smiles and love returned.

So when you feel down and forgotten, turn it around. Have fun while making someone elses day. They will love you for it!

We set up some long handled spoons for the YW to have some breakfast at their sleep over, instructing them that they must only hold the spoons at the end of the handle and afterward gave them a print out of the following story. It was fun to watch

Its been a gray, rainy morning in Copenhagen. Things seem to have come to a halt on my priority list and I feel an urgency to get things moving. While trying to think of solutions I slumped tired in my chair. I wondered why God was not helping me do his will regardless to my efforts and how he felt so far right now. Unexpectedly for a moment the room lit up very bright. I looked outside to find under the gray sky the sun gleaming in the windows of the facing building which reflected back into mine. The clouds must have parted behind me for just a minute.

I was surprised to bask in and catch a glympse of the sun today, I couldn’t see the actual sun and I was fortunate to have what was ahead of me to reflect it back to my attention! I guess that’s how it is at times. It was enough to remind me and feel how close He is, even if I can’t always see it.

my favorite book

For YW we are having a ‘share your favorite book‘ night..Â A book I consider very precious is ‘The little Prince’ by St Exupery. I just took a little prince quiz here.

The book often seen as a mere childrens story is very special but there was also something about the timing of when I first read it. Ive given a book of ‘quotes from the little prince’ as a gift once and we even used a quote from St Exupery on our wedding invitations.

We had a clothes swap night for the girls and got a little carried away- some of the girls tried on my wedding dress. I remember doing the same thing at a yw leaders when I was their age- how fun!

We totally lost track of time after having a late start and for that I got my Knuckles rapped- some things never change! (but it was such a fun night!!) :S This Audrey Hepburn look-a-like has been doing ballet for years hence such swan like elegance!

Â As part of the activity for YW this week we made some Black Apple dolls from the amazing etsy wonder.Â The cute pattern for this is FREE here.

First pictures of mine I made last night, then the girls made some for part of their activity this week. I don’t think I can ever sit thirty min idle again! I love making cute things.. I got a set of crochet needles the other day too.. oh oh

Just like us not two of the dolls are exactly a-like!

I got back from camp today. OH MY GOSH! Do Danes rough it!! Every other y.w. camp I’ve been to (7 of them) we have had a hall to meet in, where we also had dinner.. yep, a camp cook. Once I was even the cook’s assistant at camp. In Danish yw camp we even make our own waste disposal, all our meals on a fire, and a shelter and a seated table to eat at, we made an assault course too phew!

On the hike we stopped a few times for activities, the first was to put ingredients together for a bread dough that we would cook for dinner in a bag and tie it on girls’ stomach while they hike, the heat helping the dough to rise- we thought it was funny that they looked pregnant yep you know the pun I’m thinking of..!

Um yeah I got an allergic reaction to an insect bite, looks like its still getting bigger and worse, that picture was taken yesterday or this morning, going to the doctors first thing tomorrow. Lots of wasps.. they are on the outside of the inner lining of my tent- was at least 8 (I think there was ten!) I got stung on the neck- while I was putting my compass on.. hurt like heck, nasty nasty.. that day four more girls in my group were stung, and the same in another team I know… I think likely in all the groups too. I know at least two other leaders were. We only got peace from them when it rained- and when it rained it poured.. One time I heard somone saying they were praying for the rain to stop and I was liike… I’m praying for it not to..! I was so desperate to have a break from annoying wasps in my face. I am soo happy to be home and dry and have my bed tonight. Getting home was doubley great if that is even possible- when I saw that hubby babes had tidied all the house and left me lots of surprizes- including a desktop to fullfill all my needs.. tis what I get for marrying a tech geek (: he’s away with the boys for the weekend.

I love being in the Young Women program. It is so good to review and share the principles I have grown greatly to appreciate and love. I was presenting the lesson today and when I gave the simple hand out to the girls that I made last minute with help from some digi scrap, there was a chorus of gasps and sighs lol.
