Yummy Yummy

So my visiting teachers came this week and brought:

Yummy personalized cookies! Aren’t they lovely! I feel awfully lucky to have visiting teachers who bring me goodies every time .. (I need to be a better visiting teacher!) They are truly an inspirational duo. My waist line is not thanking them so kindly, I’m half glee half despair when I see the beautiful treats that they bring me.. oh well, shall just have to try cut out the other stuff so I can guilt free enjoy these pleasures! Thank you Mrs Lene and Mrs Carol!

These cookies were GONE before the end of that night! I wish to make time to create such lovely things in my life.. and I resolve to in my new home.. since I will now be a stay at home mum for the next year! YaY!

I came across this and thought it was soo beautiful that I had to share! Isn’t this just so decadent! Well done Mrs Lene!!

Right now I am scoping cakes like nobodies business while looking for inspiration for my bebe’s 1st birthday celebrations.. I was already thinking of doing a fancy (but much more simple) frosting technique.. Oh yum yum yum. I love cake!

Whatever I do must be fun and kid friendly.. here are some of my inspiration finds so far. I don’t even know where I saved the images oops

Yay! Its that time again already! And I always find myself a little bit excited. For us finding your own involves scouring the supermarkets and green grocers for the perfect pumpkin, how I dream of visiting a pumpkin patch.. but to be fair we enjoyed digging deep in the huge box on the street vegetable market ahh.. pumpkin time.

1. get a pumpkin

We already had some pumpkin carving fun with Mrs Lene and Mr mike, Mr Samuel + Mr Magnus + friends ((: And then there’s pumpkin yummies! I have already tried something a bit different this morning using the orange ingredient in my porridge.

2. under adult supervision (Niels had Mike here) carefully cut the top off of your pumpkin.

3. Remove Pumpkins brains

4. and the rest…

5. Save all the good stuff to bake with later (:

6. get creative

7. Light em up!

8. Sit back and enjoy Pumpkin goodies

Store Bededag

I got a little excited when I saw that in my calendar. Great thought I- I recognize ‘Store’ immediately as meaning ‘big’ and I thought- imagined the rest meant ‘bed-day’ I thought this was a holiday made for me. On my way home from work MrA. ask’s that I nip into a bakers and get some ‘hveder’- special roll’s made only on this night in preparation for ‘great prayer day’- yep, that’s what ‘store bededag‘ means. The roll’s traditionally were bought in a double batch from bakers to last through the praying holiday period as bakers did not have to work on that day.. and today the tradition still stands.. here’s MrA with his roll which he claims must be simply eaten warm and buttered.

I sneaked some roast beef into mine..

‘Billionaire shortbread’

I feel that one of the main skills of being a top mum is now complete- just in the nick of time. Its taken me a while and trying a few different recipes to get these right. Oh baby.

I made carrot cake to celebrate our new oven.. (which is working very well..) cake finished with white carrot top chocolate drops that complement perfectly the cream cheese topping. Thanks for the milky bar buttons mum!

YaaaaaY! Todays allrecipes frontpage featuring Mr & Mrs A’s yummy creation..

We did it!!- as in ALL of us.. clearly I wouldn’t have done it without the votes.. from dad… Mr’s Lene and certainly not without the support of Mr’s Laura and um.. mrA making the splendid ice creation.. and our trusty ice cream maker and um.. Allrecipes ofcourse for being so delicious..

Next on my list I can’t wait to make is this lovely recipe passed on to me with great praises from the lovely Lene.. hmm

Apple and hazelnut crumble with cinnamon ice cream

We made this delicious combo.. oh baby! Anyway to the point… Vote for mee- ‘racincake’ here so I can make it on the front page of allrecipes tomorrow… I’ve always kinda wanted that but just fall short- I have to be in the top 4 to get it.. help a gal out- you know you’d eat it..!! hmm cake…

Today I made a colourful sponge cake for my girls (yw) using this ‘white cake’ recipe. I had so much fun! This cake recipe is extremely soft and yummy.

Ok.. so the mixture looked a bit like paint to begin with in my mad experiment lab. I added the mixture to the baking tin in spoonfulls and gave a tiny stir with a cocktail stick before putting it in the oven.

And voila! Colourful, spongey, cakey goodness. But now it’s all gone already. I guess I’ll just have to make another one.. (:

Ahh isn’t he cute..

Its Pancake day! And I feel like sharing the pancake goodness- this is my favorite recipe for thick pancakes.. I haven’t learned to make skinny ones yet.. Mr A might have tried to stab me with his fork for taking that picture the look of him there.

Pancake day is extra cool because it’s also our niece Kamillas (birthday) Who I can’t wait to go see this afternoon.. As a six year old She has quite an interesting birthday wish list that we recieved by email- I think is worth sharing..We love getting these for giggle factor.
