Christmas decorations 2007

I made these little stockings as a gift for the Y.W (or danish U.P) In my ward and filled them with colourful candles, heart sweets, candy cane, sachet hot choc powder and ‘gospel tree’ poem. The little stocking gifts were inspired by a friend who in previous year gave me such a gift that brings a smile to me every year as it resurfaces. The contents were partly inspired by an idea I’d come across for giving ‘Christmas in a Can‘ that I thought was nice and bursting with very cosy well wishes.. which had hot chocolate amoung other things. The poem I also received previously in a Christmas card, and keep to read each Christmas, It is one that brings that Christmas magic feeling to me. the candle was to remind the girls of the poem. The candy cane is a painting I done and then copied for cards and tags.. I love the style here of scandinavian Christmas, they keep it simple and bold, can see that with my very obviouse theme of white and red through and gentler spashes of green.. next year maybe I’ll try just white. Happy Christmas and New Year all!
